Director - Writer - Actor - Singer
About

Alkisti is a director, writer, and performer from Athens, Greece, and a graduate of the Master of Theatre (Directing) at the Victorian College of the Arts. She began her career as a singer and actor across stage and television and, after completing a BA (Hons) in Theatre Arts, was awarded Best Graduating Artist. She has since written and directed original works in both Greece and Australia.
Her practice centres on physical theatre and embodied storytelling, creating visually driven performance that engages with political and social themes, including gender, identity and war. During her time at VCA, she interned as a director on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, expanding her experience within large-scale international theatre-making.
In 2023, Alkisti created and performed a new work inspired by an ancient Greek myth for the National Gallery of Victoria Summer Kids Festival, and directed Inside Out, an original comedy by Indigenous artist Maurial Spearim, which premiered at the Malthouse as part of the Yirramboi Festival.
In 2024, she co-directed The Long Game by Sally Faraday alongside Krystalla Pearce at Theatre Works. Her most recent work, Αριάδνη / Ariadne, is a contemporary tragedy that she wrote and directed for La Mama Theatre as part of the Mother Tongues Festival. She is inspired by ancient choruses and the events of the world today, creating her own version of contemporary tragedy.
